i have a three and a half year old aughter who is autistic with other mental conditions. she has learned how to unbuckle herself from her carseat and i am looking into getting one that she can't get out of. i'm looking for the kind with that bar thing that goes across their chest but i don't know what the car thing is called so i can't find them. so if anyone knows what those carseats are called and a store that i could go to that has them??

  1. well from what i know i believe that is called a t bar. what that  does it it  pulled over the head of the child and it locks in to place. the only way you can unlock, ( i believe) is you. that way your daughter  may havea harder time  undoing her seat. my  two year old has figured out how to unbuckle himself too.

  2. Are you talking about an overhead shield where the arm comes down and fastens with a single buckle?

    ***That is an overhead shield.

  3. T Bar

  4. It is an overhead sheild, but really, they are not as safe as a 5-point harness. It amounts to being a three-point harness, and you can't adjust them as snugly as the 5 point.  Is it the buckle your child is undoing, or is she splippint through the straps? If the latter, try snugging them up really tightly.

Finally, I have read that the EZON vest is practically escape proof. Here is alink for that: http://www.ezonpro.com/index.shtml

This product has been successful with kids with autism.

  5. This is the only one I could find...Hope it helps
