what happens if you get in a crash and dont have liability insurance in Oregon?

  1. If you have an accident with another personal and do not have insurance to pay for damage to their car or their medical bills, you can be sued personally for the funds to pay these damages. (If you crash your car and no other cars are involved, you will have to pay your medical bills and the damages to the car out of pocket of course.)

    Insurance only pays what you would have had to pay, if you didn't carry it.  So, you're "self insured" - you have to pay.
