Question:

Cartilage Piercing, needle or gun?

Hey, I'm getting my cartilage pierced Monday. I had it done with the gun 2 years ago. It got so infected I had to take it out. I think it couldn't heal because the earring was to short. If I were to get it done with the needle, could I ask to have a longer earring put in. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks ahead.

  1. go with the needle...it is much better...yes, most piercing places that use needles will have longer posts available...

  2. needle.  the guns are sooooo unsafe.  most places dont clean them after every person (i've seen this in person).  hepatitis can live on an object for up to 3 days, so who knows what you're getting with those things.

other than that, they just push all the material out of the way, but its still the same amount of material so you risk infections and keloids.  with the needle, they take a small piece out, so it heals better and will less likely get a keliod.

  3. You should go with the needle. Definitely safer, since you've had a bad experience from using a gun.

    :) Good Luck.

  4. Do it yrself.Clean everythign yr self.I did mine:) and it never got infected.
