Cartilage piercing? how long!?!?!?

Question

i just got my cartilage piercing (top of ear) yesterday!

the piercer said to clean it 2 times a day with anti bactierial soap

and

clean it 2 times a week with salt water

im just wondering how long do i hav to keep cleaning it for im guessing a couple months right??

btw the piercer ddint tell me so idk

you have to keep it in and clean it for 6 months.

You should clean it until it's healed, which can take anywhere from 6 months to a year.  Cartilage piercings have one of the longest healing periods.

they told me both times i got mine pierced to clean for 6 weeks, but the danged thing hurt so incredibly bad i let it close up, hence the second piercing, and when it still hurt the 2nd time around i gave up on the cartlidge piercing, lol, good luck to ya, you have a high pain tolerance cuz that c**p HURT!!!!!!! and i have had my nose done for almost 10 yrs now and it didnt hurt a fraction as bad as the high part of my ear!

i had mine done i cleaned it for about 3 weeks

at least 6 months mine developed a knot on the back of it that made me want to take it out but after about a year it disappeared just make sure you keep it clean really well mine took about a year to heal..

You have to clean if for AT LEAST one month. After that, it's discretionary but you should always keep it clean.
