so I'm going to get a cartilage piercing tomorrow on both ears like this

http://img517.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2q9kpzdxe5.jpg

one side will have two and another side will have one. and i was wondering if this was a good idea to get them all at one time? would they be hard to take care of, since there are three of them. how long will it take to heal & to change them into different earrings? i also heard that people found it difficult to sleep with new cartilage piercings, is that true?

i know i asked many questions but thank you for anyone who answers them .

  1. Three at once isn't too much to take- they hurt more than a lobe piercing but not too much. please don't let any one do them with a stud gun- these are barley suitable for lobe piercings. get some one with a nice new hollow needle to do them properly!! i've had both sides done at once, but don't recommend it as sleeping on the ear is pretty painful for up to 2 weeks or so, but ive since had two done one one side at once and that was okay, three should be no probem- just keep them super clean!!

  2. I believe that getting all 3 of the piercings done at once will be a great idea. Yes they are hard to take care of because I git three done at once and it really hurts when you turn the two in the same ear your ear will get red. It will take at least 1-2 weeks for them to heal all the way then on the 3rd week you can change the them.I found it pretty difficult to sleep with the new piercings.

  3. Technically you can get as many piercings as you would like. And, if thats what you want to do, you should do it because it's your body. However, I would advise you that you didnt.

This is really because sleeping on new piercings can be really painfull and its quite detrimental to them to have all that pressure on them. I have three cartilage piercings and an industrial (which goes through cartilage) I got them all done at separate times because I knew that getting both ears done would be uncomfortable. IMO you should just pick one ear. I would choose the one you wanted two piercings on- and get the two piercings. Then you can lay on the side that doesnt have a piercing, which will be alot more comfortable and beneficial to the piercings.

They arnt particularily difficult to care for, but they do seem to be pretty problematic. Ive had problems with all my cartilages despite caring for them properly. Sometimes cartilage is just prone to keloiding. Still if you clean em twice a day with sea salt water you should be okay. Its not difficult to change them into different earrings but you do have to wait until the healing time is up.. and you should be aware that  healing can take some time.

I pierced my tragus just yesterday, and at this time Im avoiding sleeping on it, im also wearing my hair pinned back so that my hair doesnt wrap around the post. You should too. But again, if you want three go for it. It would be easier to get the two on one ear for now though.

  4. i would only get 2 done at a time cause if you get them all done the same time your ears are going to be sore and its going to be harder for you to sleep on them. cartilage it takes 3 months to a yr depends on the amount of cartilage you have.

when i got my left cartilage done i was able to sleep on it that night and i had it done when i was 15 and im 24 now.

everyone body is different you might not be able to sleep on your cartilage when you get it done and then again you might be it just depends.

i think it would be harder for you to take care of all of them just only get 2 done at a time.
