Cartilage piercings hurt??

Question

i was answering a similar question and it made me remember that i meant to get on this website and ask this...

this is the question for obviously all you people with your cartilages pierced. i DON'T want to hear from anybody who speaks their OPINION but hasn't actually GOTTEN one. i just want to hear from you people that actually haveeee it.

okay so here it goes...

i am 13 and my mother is allowing me to get my cartilage done. i am thinking to get it done on my 14th birthday which is coming up.

i've dreampt of having this done for a whilee but i've always been afraid of the pain. (i am VERY scared of pain)

so pleaseee tell me if it hurts or not! that's all i need to know!

oh, it would also help if you told me some things i could do to make it hurt less and to make it more like SAFE i guess.

i was 12 and wen i got mine it hurt like 5 seconds after it was done. then u cant lay on it for a LONG time. like 3 months. and it can hurt if u don't clean it alot. after alllllllll that i love mine!!! yay!

Yes it hurts, but not terribly or anything.

You won't walk away crying.

&& If at all possible, get it done with a needle and not a gun. Guns can shatter your cartlidge and cause scar tissue build up which will leave a bump around your piercing.

of course it hurts.  any piercing in the skin will hurt, let alone through cartilage.  it's not unbearable, however you can't sleep on it for quite some time.

i have had my eye pierced a million times all up and down it and ive done it myself half of the times. I take pain very well so i guess the best i can do is to compare it to a typical ear piercing. The pain is more dull but it isnt as quick, it has to pass through a few layers of flesh that vary in density. Regaurdless once it is done your going to say to yourself "why was i even concerned about the pain". Ive had alot of different peircings in my ear and the only one that i stayed with is the orbital in my ear lobe ive only ever seen two other people that have it, if you want something different esspecially at your age i think you should consider it.

yes it hurts, but its not the worst pain you'll ever feel

i got mine done like 3 years ago (5th grade), and when they put it throguh my eyes started watering, but i didnt cry haha

it just feels like a big pinch!

and make sure you go to a good piercer, cause i went to peircing pagoda in the mall, and mine is still infected at the moment haha but it doesnt bother me so i keep it in
