Can anyone help me on them?

People say to stiffen up your legs when your flipping on a cartweel but my legs won't do that. I can do the flippin parts but my stupid legs don't straighten!

And can anyone explain step by step on how to do a cartweel and handstand/summersault?!

  1. stiffening your legs???

sorry but once you are upside down your legs are no longer bound by gravity and kinda develop a mind of their own.  don't worry about that

the way we were taught in capoeira class was the following.

put your hands next to your body  and jump over.  just try to jump  over and go higher on each try. before you know it you will have mastered a cartwheel

same thing goes for a handstand.  put your hands in front of you and swing your back leg up.

to do good hand acrobatics you need to develop a good sence of equilibrium on your hands.for that you need to practice.

  2. A handstand and a cartwheel are almost the same. Only when you are doing a handstand you are basically using both arms as a supportive muscle. The trick is to squeeze your butt together(butt muscles.) By doing this you are balancing your weight on both arms. Remeber to point your toes and breath.

For cartwheels if you know that you are shifting your weight on to each hand as you make a complete rotation, then don't be afraid to point your toes , just like you would do in a handstand.

Remember that practice makes perfect and that if you fall, to never give up! I'm sure you'll be able to do them both very well soon...  :)

  3. SORRY, I THINK THIS IS IN THE WRONG CATEGORY.
