Cary’s Lad’s expecting a seasonal debut win out of Betfred Goals Galore Handicap Hurdle at Hereford
Hereford will become home for the Class 5 Betfred Goals Galore Handicap Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs on Wednesday, 21st March. Twelve runners will be competing for the purse worth £1, 689.
There are quite a few on the lineup who have raced at Hereford but none of them has been successful in getting any of the races against their name as victories.
Cary’s Lad, Exit To Nowhere’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Dawn Spinner, is to race his seasonal debut through today’s race and has come out of two races at Hereford as the final two attempts for the 2011 season.
On 23rd March 2011, he was third in the Lindley Catering Handicap Hurdle at Hereford over two miles and four furlongs. The race was won by Gainsborough’s Art who was adrift from the runner up, Welcome Stranger, by 3 ¾ lengths.
The 5/2 favourite of the race was the last entry on the lineup to leave the track.
His final start was a little more disappointing with a fifth positioning on the track of ten in the Best Odds Guaranteed At Victorchandler.Com Handicap Hurdle on 20th April at Hereford over two miles and six and a half furlong.
The race went the 11/4 favourite’s way who made it through the wire by a mere neck’s margin from the runner up, Border Lad. Getting settled third was Bollywood.
The eight-year-old Fletch And Lenny is another entry on the lineup who has raced at Hereford twice through the previous season but could not culminate any of the two attempts in victory.
He ended seventh on the field of eleven in the Almost Modern Order Of Purchasers Handicap Hurdle on 30th November at Hereford over two miles and four furlongs. The race was won by Jackers.
Not really getting a chance to race, Fletch And Lenny was pulled up in the Totequickpick Handicap Hurdle on 11th December 2011 at Hereford over three miles and two furlongs.
Both have ample experience as far as the race course and the distance is concerned but who gets to make the most out of it and gets to claim the race will unveil soon.
