Real Mallorca forward, Victor Casadesus, couldn’t be more optimistic about his team’s chances against the Spanish giants, Barcelona, and he believes this weekend’s match could be the moment the Catalans will drop points.
Mallorca have been struggling lately as they couldn’t manage to pick up a single point from their last five La Liga games. Due their dismal run, their ranking in the table standings has fallen and they now sit on the 13th position.
However, their striker, Casadesus, believes all of that can be turned around. He thinks all they need to do is learn from their mistakes, especially last week’s 5-0 loss to the reigning champions, Real Madrid.
The Islanders' striker believes the upcoming match with the Catalans is the perfect opportunity for Mallorca to improve its attitude and turn their season around.
“The key is to improve upon the impression we gave against Real Madrid [a 5-0 defeat] and we now have the opportunity to improve our attitude.”
The 27-year-old has also commented on the team’s current situation and accepts that it is not ideal. However, he is confident that things will improve and soon the team will start climbing the table.
“The reality is that our situation is not comfortable or good, but we have no doubt that the team dynamic will change and we will start getting positive results.”
The Spaniard also shared his thoughts on the perception some people have about Mallorca’s weekend home encounter with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. He revealed that some people have already given up on the game and lost hope for good result against La Liga leaders.
Regardless, Victor believes that it doesn’t have to be that way. He admits that it is going to be difficult but at the same time he also knows that Barca can lose any moment and that moment could be against them.
“Some people want to give up on the match against Barca but it doesn't have to be that way. I know its very difficult but Barca have to lose someday. You can't win all your League games, why can we not think that they might fail this weekend?”
Mallorca can cause upset in the weekend against Barcelona since they earned 82% of their Primera Division points at home.
