There is a history of rivalries in cricket and there are four nations which have spiced the sport with the intensity of their rivalries. These four nations are Australia, England, India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
Australia and England have battled out in the Ashes against each other and these two nations have a history that dates back to 1882. The rivalry of India and Pakistan started in 1952 when the two teams played their first Test match at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780.
The ICC has come up with many unique matches with time and there have been matches which were just for entertainment of the crowds. Such matches include the Asian 11 versus the African 11, the world 11 versus the best team at the point according to the ICC
rankings and many others.
There can be another interesting series conducted which features two teams which have individuals from Australia, England, India and Pakistan. According to the rankings, the ICC can decide which two teams should be merged and make one team each. For example,
considering the current rankings, India is the number one team in the Tests and going down in the list England comes ahead of Australia and Pakistan. There can be a merged team of India-Australia and England-Pakistan.
The best players can be short-listed from both the teams and then two teams can be formed. This can be a very unique and interesting competition which will attract masses from all over the World. The series can be a Test match, ODI or a Twenty20 series.
It is also not necessary to conduct the series regularly. The ICC can arrange the series after every four years like the World Cup. The series can be started with a couple of Twenty20 matches just to test the concept and then if it is worth it, the series
can be expanded into a complete one.
With players from all four of these cricket giants combined, the crowds will also come together and support their respective teams. This concept will also be handy for the global peace through sports.
Keeping in mind the peace process through sports, the ICC can also merge the rival nations with one another and then arrange matches. This will bring the people form all four countries together for one cause.
There has been a match before which featured all the Asian teams and the rest of the World 11. That match saw India, Pakistan, England and Australia come together in the same match.
These sorts of matches can also be arranged for a charity occasionally. Pakistan has been hit by the worst floods in history and such matches can be arranged to raise funds for the millions of people affected by this natural calamity.
All the four teams are currently playing their series and the World cup is due to be played in 2011. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and England are battling it out for the Ashes there have already been some exciting twists and turns in the series.
The first match of the series ended in a draw and after that, England took lead in the series by winning a match. Australia bounced back in the third match levelling the series at one all.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 but they have lost
their warm up match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 which was a Twenty20 encounter.
If there are some matches played combining all these four teams, it will be great for the spirit of the game and in many other aspects.
