Casey Clark pockets Women’s 100 yard butterfly gold – 2012 Rice Invitational, Houston
Casey Clark of Rice-GU pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 100 yard butterfly at the 2012 Rice Invitational in Houston, USA on Saturday, October 27.
Clark showed no mercy to her opponents in the four-lap discipline as she rushed her way towards the finishing blockade for gold medal.
With her alluring efforts, she gained a marginal lead over her challengers in the start and swam her way to the finishing wall for the crown.
Her notable effort remained slightly more than a body length ahead of her closest competitor as she tapped the wall with a timing of 57.33 seconds for gold medal.
Clark was chased by Alexandra Polhill of TX Christian-NT, who was 1.43 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall as second best finisher by producing a time of 58.76 seconds.
The silver medallist was trailed by her teammate, Sabine Rasch, who was 0.29 seconds behind and reached the finishing end as third best finisher with an effort of 59.05 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was followed by Karina A Wlostowska of Rice-GU, who was 0.04 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and transpired on the wall with an effort of 59.09 seconds.
Wlostowska was trailed by Michelle A Detka of HU-GU, who was 0.80 seconds behind and proved her eligibility for fifth position of the event by submitting a time of 59.89 seconds.
Detka was traced by Shannon N Foreman of Rice-GU, who was only 0.11 seconds slower and concluded her race in sixth place by reporting a time of 1 minute and 00.00 seconds.
Seventh position of the event was gained by Laykin T Lowry of HU-GU, who was just a stroke behind and completed her swim in a time of 1 minute and 00.35 seconds.
Lowry was traced by her team-member, Mackenzie R Alspaugh, who was 0.14 seconds slower and posted a time of 1 minute and 00.49 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Clark was extremely delighted with her gold claiming effort in the 100 yard event and stressed that she would accelerate her hard work in order to achieve the same at higher levels.
