Question:

Casey Mears to RCR for 2009

It looks like Casey Mears is the front runner to be RCR's 4th driver BUT am hearing that Mears could end up in the #07 Jack Daniel's's Chevy with Clint Bowyer moving over to the 4th team, sponsored by General Mills/Cheerios, supposedly using the #33. The teams could switch owners points so Bowyer is not out of the top-35 in owners points and Mears would have to qualify the #07 for the first five races of 2009

With this being said. Do you think Mears will come out of his shell the way Kyle did after leaving HMS?

  1. Can't say what will happen until an announcement is made.

But Mears sorry to say will never do what Kyle is doing this year. I do hope that a change for Mears will help to be more consistent and maybe win a couple races here and there.

Mears to RCR seems like a good fit based on the personalities of the drivers at RCR now.

  2. I hope so.

I really want to see Casey succeed. And have a team that he stays on for awhile.

I wish him all the best.

  3. Gosh this is all making my head crazy...I can't keep up.  LOL  Just when I do start to keep good track they scramble all over again.  LOL

OK..well good for casey.  I can't wait to see what he can do.  But I really don't think Casey can touch what Kyle has accomplished.  You need to remember even in 3rd rate equipment Kyle was winning at HMS.

  4. Well that's better than the rumor that was going around about him going to Petty. RCR has better equipment.

  5. no kyle went to a great team    casey will be going to a startup team and he isnt that great to start with

  6. he will do good whit rcr

  7. Yes, that would be good.

Umm, that makes no sense though to just switch numbers and sponsors for Bowyer to give that to Mears, kinda weird, but whatever LOL.

  8. possible, but not likely. busch moved to an already established team that had been working together on the 18 for a long time. mears has been passed around more than a bong at a grateful dead concert, so has not had a chance to "bond" with any team. now he'll be starting with a brand new team who themselves haven't bonded yet. i'm assuming clint's team will go with him to the 33, should the points swap be approved.

on top of that, i don't see casey having the year kyle is having no matter what. he hasn't shown the promise kyle showed going from 20th in the points in 2005, to 10th in 2006 to 5th in 2007 before moving. casey's talent is unproven, kyle's is scary.

  9. we wont no what will happen until it has been said
