Casey Stoner-Valentino Rossi argument since Laguna Seca clash continues – MotoGP news
Although Casey Stoner has already retired from MotoGP, still the feud that started 4 years ago between him and Valentino Rossi, still goes on.
The controversy started after 2008 US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca where Rossi finished with the gold medal and Stoner got the silver medal. The Ducati rider, Stoner, had dominated both practice and qualifying session of the Grand Prix. When it came to the
actual race, it was Stoner and Rossi again racing for the 1st standing. In the decisive moments of the race, Stoner suffered a crash, courtesy Rossi’s controversial high-speed wheel-to-wheel racing. Although Stoner sustained no serious injuries in the crash
and was able to resume the race, but it was too late for the Australian. Stoner’s crash had given Rossi just enough time to reach the finish line ahead of Stoner.
It was Casey Stoner’s turn to hit back at Rossi and that was exactly what the Aussie did. On his official twitter feed, Stoner tweeted, “I think Valentino feels a little braver now that I'm not there.”
Stoner’s recent retaliation came after Rossi, while talking to the Daineses Legends magazine a week ago, said, “Stoner started to hate me just because he lost.”
“After that, he always seemed to talk about the past, this race, because he wasn't man enough to understand that at the time, he lost,” Rossi further added referring to their duel at Laguna Seca.
The Doctor seems to have developed an appetite for altercation. Rossi seldom wastes any chance to flare up controversy in his dealings with Stoner and other MotoGP riders. After his return to Yamaha, Rossi’s will be riding alongside Lorenzo in the 2013 MotoGP
season. His clashes with Lorenzo are also well known to the world. Although Lorenzo has negated the idea several times now, but there are high chances that Rossi will not be able to change his aggressive attitude towards Lorenzo.
As far the Stoner-Rossi feud goes, things do not seem to be getting any better in the near future.
