Casey Stoner breaks the two-minute barrier Thursday morning on day two of the Sepang II test
Repsol Honda’s rider Casey Stoner required just two laps to break the two-minute mark on the final day of the Sepang II test. He clocked a staggering one min 59.665s, the fastest ever lap at the Sepang International Circuit. Marco Simoncelli has improved
on Thursday morning and is running just outside the two-minute circle clocking 2min 0.163s. The third Repsol Honda rider, Andrea Dovizioso is currently in fourth place. Today the top-four positions were scored by Honda RC212V machines.
The seven times MotoGP World Champion, Valentino Rossi, was laid down yesterday and forced to miss the whole practice day but today he returned as the first rider on the track early in the morning. Rossi is sitting in 11th place on the time chart.
Previously Valentino Rossi had officially set the best lap time of 2min 0.518s during a race weekend in 2009. Nicky Hayden is lying in 13th place.
Jorge Lorenzo has set the pole position record by 2min 1.537s in 2010. Casey Stoner holds the fastest race lap by 2min 2.108s in 2007. Ben Spies is ranking fifth on time sheet, Thursday morning, whereas Jorge Lorenzo has fallen to seventh place by the start
of the day.
