Casey Stoner clinches the pole position for the Australian MotoGP
The twenty five year old Australian ace rider Casey Stoner has successfully clinched the pole for the Australian Grand Prix race, which is going to be held on Sunday. It was his birthday and the veteran racer celebrated it quite well by hammering all of
his rivals to take the pole position for the upcoming major race.
The Australian rider from the team Ducati recorded his fastest lap of approximately one minute and thirty seconds. It is to be notified that Stoner has won three previous races of Australian Grand Prix and is eyeing to snatch one more victory. The veteran
Aussie is performing pretty brilliantly these days and his home circuit of Australian GP is definitely going to help him in to settle the brawl quite marvellously.
The twenty three year old Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo followed Stoner quite well and snatched the second spot and now he will start the race from the second mark on the grid. World champ Lorenzo was followed by the American Ben Spies of the Yamaha racing team,
whereas the Italian legend and former world champ Valentino Rossi managed to finish at the eighth spot.
Currently Lorenzo is enjoying the best time of his career and his performance has been sensational throughout the season. In the race, Lorenzo gave a very strong challenge to Stoner as he clocked the fastest lap when less the fifteen minutes were remaining
in the session. But the Aussie kept his nerve quite well and maintained the lead till the end.
After the practice session race, Stoner looked quite relaxed and confident and told the media that the conditions were quite chilly and the rain made the conditions of the race a bit hard. He added that it was getting difficult for all the racers to race
at the full pace because of the strong wind. Stoner said that he is feeling lucky as he managed to record the best time considering the conditions were not friendly at all.
Some new changes are been made in Stoner’s bike by the Ducati team. When Stoner was asked about the fact, the twenty five year old said that the changes made by the team in the bike proved to be a very helpful. He added that we have tried some new and different
things to make the back of the bike to work quite levelled over the bumps. He continued by saying that the extra grip of the bike helped him control the bike easily.
On the other hand, the day was good for the Spaniard new world champ Jorge Lorenzo as he was able to finish second. When he was asked about his performance and aims for the upcoming race, Lorenzo expressed himself quite disappointedly. The twenty three year
old said that he was looking forward to taking the pole for the race by finishing at the top spot but the harsh weather conditions made the race very tough. He admired the performance of Casey Stoner and said that Stoner is very fast and brilliant over the
Australian circuit and no doubt, he is the most favourite to snatch the victory in the race on Sunday.
The Australian GP race is going to be an important race for the seven times MotoGP champ Valentino Rossi. Rossi has finished the Australian GP race on the second spot twice behind Stoner. After finishing at the eighth spot, the Italian seemed very disappointed
over his performance and told the media that it was not a good day for him. He said that the soft tyres of his bike were not helping him during the race. Rossi added that the track of Australian GP is a fantastic track to race but the current harsh and cold
weather conditions are making the race tougher. He continued and said that it takes time for the tyres to get to the accurate temperature and that is why the cold temperature is not helpful.
