Casey Stoner hints his comeback at the Australian Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda expects that he will be able to come back to Phillip Island for the Australian Grand Prix.
He told that he is recovering from his injury in the minimum possible time. Stoner has won the Australian Grand Prix five times in a row.
He told that he is recovering from his ankle injury in the minimum possible time but he would have to wait to come back for race. The incident he faced was severe but the ligaments are healing at their best and he will be in the race as early as possible.
He told Channel Seven, “[The ligaments are healing] As well as they can be. We had a fantastic surgeon, he’s done a great job with very small scars, so healing time’s going to be minimal, but unfortunately with what I’ve done we’ve really got to keep some
weight off it and try and let it heel before I get back on a bike.”
Talking about five consecutive wins at his home circuit, Phillip Island, he said that it would be difficult to add another victory to his five, but he will try his best to start the race even if they had to tie him to the bike. He expects to resume his racing
even before the Australian GP but it only depends on his recovery.
Stoner said about winning Australian GP in the current 2012 season, “I think it’s going to be tough to make it six in a row, but we’ll definitely be there, even if they have to duck-tape me to the bike. I’ll definitely be lining up for that one.”
The Australian rider further told that he wants to participate in the V8 Supercar Championship any time soon. He told that he has been interested in the V8 championship since his childhood. He added that he wants to give it a try the rest depends on if he
is competitive with the cars or not.
Stoner further told that he is disappointed at his retirement at the end of the current season but he believes that it is the right time for such a step as he is losing passion for MotoGP. He told that he wanted to leave the sport while he is still enjoying
it. He did not tell anything about his future with certainty.
Let’s see how soon will he be able to resume his career with MotoGP.
