Casey Stoner makes his way back to MotoGP at Motegi circuit after recovery – MotoGP news
Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda will be making his way back to the Motegi circuit in the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
He is enthusiastic to get back on the circuit after recovering from his injury at the qualifying round of Indianapolis Grand Prix.
The Australian rider told that it will be great to be back with his team on the home circuit of Honda. He added that his resting period after injury was tough for him however he managed to do some physiotherapy so he may remain physically fit for riding.
Stoner said, “It's going to be great to see all my team and get back on my bike in Motegi this weekend. The last six weeks have been pretty tough for me, I've had to sit around and rest my ankle, get some physio and try to occupy my time - thankfully I've
had Ally around to keep me occupied.”
Furthermore, he expressed his sorrow for the crash of his teammate, Dani Pedrosa, at the Italian circuit. He believes that such incidents are part of the sport and the same thing happened with Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing at Assen.
Expressing his views about the upcoming Japanese GP, he said that the layout of the circuit is challenging as it requires a lot of hard braking and acceleration. He told that afore mentioned attributes make the circuit demanding for the rider. A rider has
to be physically fit to cope with such layout of the circuit.
In addition, he told that the Japanese circuit will also evaluate the fitness of his ankle at the circuit moreover he will know how his ankle is reacting by the first day of practice session i.e. the upcoming Friday.
“The Motegi circuit is very stop-start with a lot of hard braking and accelerating; it's pretty tough on the body and physically quite demanding. The first session on Friday will be crucial to see how my ankle feels in the boot and the degree of movement
I have and pressure I can apply,” he added.
The Australian rider will be starting the race at the Japanese circuit after a long. It will be interesting to see him racing as he has announced retirement from MotoGP in the next 2013 season.
