Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda flies back to Australia for ankle surgery – MotoGP news
Casey stoner of Repsol Honda has to go back to Australia because his doctors have advised him to get his ankle surgically treated.
He said that his doctors have decided that it would not be favourable for him to keep going with injury he had because of the serious crash he faced during the qualifying round of the Indianapolis Grand Prix. He added that he has been advised by his doctors
to come back to Australia for the surgery of his ankle to avoid permanent damage.
He said, “The best thing to do would be to get back and have surgery as soon as possible, so that gives us the quickest recovery rate before the end of the season, and hopefully we can get back.”
Furthermore, he said that this was expected because he was recommended by everyone to not to race at the upcoming Czech Republic GP. He added that this is disappointing and it was not desired especially in the last season before his retirement.
Stoner said that he prefers left hand circuits. Talking about the Indianapolis Grand Prix He added that he has never followed people’s orders related to race, but in case he faced another accident it would be more dangerous and can cause severe damage.
“I’ve never really followed people’s orders with things like that in the past. But now, if another accident was to happen it would be huge damage. It’s just frustrating to thing what we could have done without this injury,” he said about the Indianapolis
GP.
Furthermore, he said that he hopes to come back for the race at Phillip Island scheduled on October 28th, 2012. Besides, he said that it also depends on the decision of his doctors. He also said that his participation may not depend on the decision of doctors
entirely.
Moreover, he said that he expects that his doctors will allow him to race as soon as possible so that he may start as many races as possible before the end of current season.
It would be very disappointing for all the fans of Stoner if he makes his way back at the Phillip Island circuit because Australian Grand Prix would be the second last race of this season.
