Casey Stoner remains frustrated with the performance of their bike at Sepang – MotoGP news
Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda remains unsatisfied with the performance of his bike at the Sepang circuit.
He believes that their bike is getting worse as they are trying to improve it. The Honda rider remains doubted at his physical fitness because he was unable to complete much laps.
The Honda rider told that he remains disappointed with the performance of his bike as it is not meeting their expectations. They are having problems with the brakes along with some other minor issues. He was only able to attain 4th grid position during the
qualifying round of the Malaysian GP after completing his fastest lap in 2 minutes and 0.811 seconds.
Stoner said, “It's been a really disappointing weekend, but especially today. We've had pace all weekend and the first session looked promising but we've had problems with the brakes and some other small issues. Every step we take to try and improve the
bike, we make it worse and it's becoming very frustrating.”
He believes that their potential is better than their current performance but their bike is not supporting them. He added that he is not sure about his physical fitness because he has not been able to complete many laps however he anticipates that they will
be able to improve their performance until the race, tomorrow. He has been able to win 4 grands prix in the current season proving their potential with his Honda machine.
“Physically I'm not sure how I am going to be as we haven't been able to complete many laps this weekend, our pace is there and I just hope that we can make some small improvements in tomorrow's warm up,” he added.
Stoner has recently returned to racing after an injury with his ankle. He has been able to make an impressive return despite his break of around a month as he managed finishing the Japanese Grand Prix at the 5th position.
Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing has accepted that the performance of the Australian rider during the practice sessions is better than he had performed at the Japanese GP.
