Casey Stoner says Valentino Rossi does not want to put in efforts with Ducati – MotoGP news
Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda has criticised the new contract of Valentino Rossi and Yamaha Factory Racing for the next 2013 season.
He said that Jeremy Burgess, Crew Chief of Rossi’s crew had said that it would take him 80 seconds to fix the bike because it was not a complicated issue. He added that it has been two years now and still he has not been able to fix the bike. Furthermore,
he said that it is obvious that Rossi does not want to put in extra efforts with Ducati.
“They ate their words from day one. Jerry saying that it would take him 80 seconds to fix that bike and that it was a simple issue and now they have had almost two years and have not made any inroads,” he said.
Moreover, he said that the Italian rider has already admitted that he does not want to ride a bike that is not perfect. He added that he feels sorry for Ducati, as Rossi has left the team and joined Yamaha. He said that the Italian has done nothing except
criticizing the bike during all his time at Ducati.
Stoner added, “Obviously he doesn't want to put the effort in with Ducati. I just feel completely sorry for Ducati that Valentino has gone there and done nothing but complain about the bike for almost two years. The amount of times that guy has had to eat
his words is not funny, but people still forgive him for it.”
Furthermore, he said that Rossi has changed his decisions so many times but people forgive him easily and do not blame him for anything.
Casey Stoner has already announced earlier that he will retire from racing in the following 2013 season because he is not enjoying in this profession. He has attained the championship twice once with Ducati (2007) and the second time with Honda (2011).
Stoner and Rossi have a rivalry since 2007. The Australian rider believes that the rivalry is a factor which enhances their performance in the race.
We will have to wait until the next 2013 season to see will the Italian rider be able to prove himself with the Yamaha or is it the time for him to retire.
