Casey Stoner says that strengths and weaknesses of riders change every week – MotoGP news
Casey Stoner of team Repsol Honda believes that the strengths and weaknesses of riders change every week with every circuit.
He added that Jorge Lorenzo, the championship leader always looks very strong and confident on the circuits.
Furthermore, he said that Lorenzo was happy with the tyres he had used for pre-season testing. On the other hand, Stoner said that he and Dani Pedrosa, his teammate, were unhappy with the selection of the tyres.
Stoner said, “I think it changes every week. Clearly, Jorge is always up there, always looking very strong and consistent, because obviously he is very happy with this new tyre. That compound is what they preferred in preseason testing and myself and Dani
were the ones who didn’t like it at all. Your strengths and weaknesses change at every race and you have to evaluate that over a weekend, which is never easy.”
Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Stoner have been able to make it to the podium more than any other trio. Stoner believes that they have a lot of respect for each other and they have been able to make it to the podium many times because they have grown up together and
have advanced through the lower levels together.
He added that Lorenzo has done very well in the current season and it can be expected that he will be able to give same performance over the remainder of the season. He said that Lorenzo had made it to either the 1st place or 2nd places.
Furthermore, he said that it will be challenging to get pass Lorenzo if he keeps his current performance but said he will not give up.
Relating to the crash at Italian Grand Prix, the winner of Laguna Seca, said that in every season he has a couple of bad races but eventually he recovers. He said that people speak against him after some incident but when he performs well, people forget
that.
