Casey Stoner wins the Australian MotoGP for the fourth time
The Aussie top racer, Casey Stoner proved that he is the best over his home circuit by winning the Australian MotoGP race which was held at Phillip Island on Sunday. Stoner had won the pole position for the race on Friday and showed his dominance over the
track like never before.
The Australian rider from the Ducati racing team ended his first lap of the race with a space of one and a half second between himself and his arch rival champ Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo. Stoner finished the race with the lead of eight and a half seconds over
Lorenzo. Lorenzo was followed by his team mate Valentino Rossi, who finished third.
It was a good race for the Italian as well, as he was able to show his brilliance over the racing track by overtaking the American rider Nicky Hayden in the final lap of the race.
The twenty five year old Stoner outclassed all the other riders. This week has been great for him, as he claimed the pole in difficult rainy conditions and won the race at the Phillip Island for the fourth time in a row. Stoner is now eyeing to equalize
Valentino Rossi’s five straight wins at the Phillip Island.
The victory in the race has improved the ranking of the Aussie to number three in the championship standings. Stoner is followed by Rossi on number four in the championship standings point’s table.
After the sensational effort of winning the race, Stoner seemed very excited and happy as he was able to claim the victory over the track for the fourth time in a row. Stoner expressed his feelings and said that the week was very tough for him as the weather
conditions for the race were not at all friendly. But he is happy that everything went well for him and for his team and his luck helped him well to snatch the victory.
Stoner was no doubt the most favourite to win over the Australian track and he did it right according to the expectations. When he was asked about the matter, the twenty five year old said that people were expecting the fourth win from him but he hit the
racing track like every other rider and tried his level best to maintain the lead. Stoner continued and said that he is happy for himself and for his Ducati team and everything went perfectly well according to the plans.
On the other hand, the current leader and new world champ Jorge Lorenzo admitted the fact that Casey Stoner is a bit too tough at the Phillip Island. Lorenzo said that Stoner is very quick and it is very difficult to beat him in Australia.
While talking about the race, Lorenzo expressed his feelings and said that he tried his level best to shorten the gap between himself and Stoner but all of his efforts were going in vain. He added that when he saw Stoner going he thought that it was better
for him to finish second.
The race was not lucky for the veteran rider Andrea Dovizioso, as he suffered a problem with his bike on the 4th lap of the race and had to retire. On the other hand, the ace Spaniard Dani Pedrosa also failed to participate in the race because of his injured
collarbone. Pedrosa also had missed the last two races.
“After the surgery, I was looking forward to make a come back in Australia,” said: Pedrosa. The twenty five year old told the media about his physical condition and said that he is still not feeling well and he lost strength in his arms, while riding
the bike. He added by saying that he did not want to take any risks and he is very hopeful to recover very soon for the next race.
