  1. It's a modern pawnbroker.

Second hand goods sell for a max of 60% on retail.

Shop has to make a profit so will pay between 20 - 33% of retail.

You are more likely to get a good price on ebay.

People who think it is just for junkies have never been unable to get credit.

If you realise that 35% of the population have no credit or overdraft facilities then Cash Conveters doesn't seem so bad.  The fees work out at about 30% apr if you buy your goods back within 30 days.

It certainly beats the alternative of Shopacheck or Provident , often the only other alternative for people with a low credit score. Shopacheck will lend you up to £500 at an apr of 110%. No that is not a typo!

  2. Depends on the area and what you are selling they have replaced the old fashioned pawnbroker I buy quite a few bargains there. But if you want to sell why not go to eBay you are on line anyway

  3. like the guy above me said, its where crackheads sell either there families stuff or stolen stuff, steer clear

  4. Shops like that are for crackheads selling what they have left in order to buy a rock.
