How many hours can you work before you have to declare tax?

  1. depends on your circumstances, but you can earn up to £4895 without paying any tax, but plese note no matter what you earn you still have to declare it to the tax people


  2. Officially you have to declare declare all income - whether it is to be deemed taxable or not- in reality anything less than £100 as a one-off is of no concern to the Inland Revenue.

  3. Rubbish answers, as usual.

    You need to register as self employed within 3 months of starting. Reason being that you will be liable to pay NIC's (unless you get the small earnings exemption) from day 1. This will help with your NI record. If your profit is under £5435 this tax year, you will not be liable for tax, but you will have to self assess.

  4. Nothing to do with the hours, it is the earnings, technically all income you make from earnings should be declared, whether taxable or not.

  5. Zero - once you've made more than £5,435 in the tax year.
