Cashen Malouda favourite for Peggy Kellys Islandbridge Open Round 1 Heat 3
Cashen Malouda has been rated as the favourite to win the Peggy Kellys Islandbridge Open Round 1 Heat 3 at Harold’s Cross in Ireland on Monday, May 14, 2012. The winning hound will walk away with a cash prize of €50.
A total of six quality hounds will be seen in action over the 324 yard flat race, which is scheduled to start at 21:10 GMT. Their names are as follows: Cashen Malouda, Knockglass Billy, Uncle Chico, Deixa Comigo, Junior Counsel and Heres The Bird.
The bookies have shown full faith in the abilities of Cashen Malouda, as he has raced quite regularly at Harold’s Cross. His recent form has been impressive, thus the bettors are also expected to risk some money in his favour.
The Houlihan’s trainee finished first in the last race he completed. He was not rated as favourite for it, but still impressed one and all with his speed and skills. He is known for his good starts, thus a positive result is expected from him at Harold’s
Cross today. However, things will not be easy for him, as there are some quality runners taking part in the event.
Today’s favourite hound is the son of Cashen Legend out of Blakes Fawn and was born in January 2010.
On the other hand, Knockglass Billy has also managed to get pretty decent odds for victory in the race. He is a decent performer, but has been unable to win over the past few events. This might discourage the punters to risk money on him.
The G. Holland’s trained dog finished third in his most recent race at Harold’s Cross. He was not given the best odds to win back then, but was still expected to give a tough time to his rivals.
However, the black hound was unable to post any threat to the top two runners, which would have disappointed his team in the end. He will need to be at his absolute best in order to take the top spot today.
Knockglass Billy is the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Knockglass Lady and was born in October 2009.
Other than the top two favourites, Uncle Chico and Deixa Comigo might also manage to fight for the title, as they are in decent form.
