Cashiers Check by different bank?

I bank through Chase, but there is a Citizens bank down the road. Could i get a cashiers check made though Citizens, or do i have to go to my own bank?

  1. Usually banks wont sell you a cashiers check if your not a customer. Go to Chase.


  2. I work at a bank and yes we do issue Cashiers checks to non-customers.  every bank is different though. We charge a 4.00 fee for a cashiers check, give it a shot!

    If you are planning on paying for the check with cash, they may be more willing to issue you one since a cashiers check is guaranteed funds, they want to make sure your method of payment is reliable.

  3. Depends on the bank.  Sometimes they allow it for a flat fee, but most of the time those types of services are only offered to bank customers.
