Cashing EEsaving bonds?

Question

I have purchased about 34 EE saving bonds. I no longer want them because the interest that they earn is low. Do I have to wait one year before I cash them? I thought I could cash them and pay a penalty. What are my options. The oldest one was issued 10/2007

There is a site called savingsbonds.gov that can answer your questions for you, I don't know the answer offhand.  Good luck.  ** From what I see on the site the only penalty you pay is the last 3 months interest, but I could be wrong.
