Cashing a payroll check from another bank?

this is my first job and i recently got paid. im too young to have a bank account, so my parents were going to cash it for me at their HSBC bank. the check was from chase bank. would it still work? would i be able to get cash without having to deposit the money into my parent's account? would it work if i signed it and brought my work or school id with me?
