Cashing checks Help! if the banker asks me what kind of bills do i want for my check, how do i say it???

i dont want anything like 100s, i want bills small like 20s,10s,5s etc... to buy treats and foods and stuff....

so how do i tell them?

give examples plz.

and when you show them your school id and check, they will just give you the money, right?

and will they give anything back like a reciept kind of thing or something?

Say "in 20's or smaller".  They'll take the check, and look at your ID.  They are giving you the cash, so there's no reason for a receipt.

Just say, "In twenties, please.". no receipt, just the cold hard casharoonie.

you have to authorize your check, by signing the back. Ask the banker for small bills. When they ask how would you like it, just say "in small bills please." This way you shouldn't get anything higher then a 20. You can get a receipt that tells you the balance of your bank statement.

Some banks have minor accounts, if you have a minor account you may not be able to cash a check without parental approval, you may only be able to deposit it.

they will generally just cash it without asking. If you don't want 100's say, 'small bills' or 'no hundereds please'. Usually, you don't get a receipt.

You are trying to cash a check?  Go to a bank and cash it.  It sounds like it is probably a small check, so I don;t think you ened to worry about the bills you will get.

If they give you a hundred, simply ask them for smaller bills.  It's not that tough.

Just tell them what bills you want...(ie...$100 check, ask for five tens, and 10 fives...) or what ever you want.

Yes they will give you your money if you show them your i.d and the check has your name on it.  

You don't usually get a reciept when you cash a check...just when you make a deposit or withdrawal.

Your reply, "I'd like small bills please!" and yes you will most always receive a receipt but if they forget just remind them for your receipt it's considered to be yours with the transaction

Just tell them you want small bills. Just say exactly what you want. You can even be like, "I want four 20's, two 10's, three 5's a 2 dollar bill, two 1's, and a roll of nickels please. And that is what they will give you, because that is what you want. If you cash a check, they will give you your money. Thats it. Don't panic, they aren't going to be mean because you have never done it before.
