The Blancos captain is happy with Real and what it stands for. He believes that Real Madrid are a universal club and because of that they are able to understand the different ideologies of the world.
“I like the club where it is. It is universal and transversal. We respect and understand the ideologies around the globe and that has greatness.”

Iker strongly opposes mixing sports with politics. He believes players should only focus on their sports and refrain from making any controversial comments. He stated the fact that even a simple phrase can be taken out of context these days.
Therefore, the 31-year-old urged his players to stay away from these issues, especially in this time of a globally-connected world.
“The players would do wrong to mix sports with politics too, as any phrase of our can be taken out of context and may become national debate nowadays with social networking. It is better to be away from these issues.”
The veteran shot-stopper was also questioned about the financial crisis that have plagued his country. He mentioned that he is fully aware of what is taking place in the world and especially in his country. He admitted that they even talk about it every
