Real Madrid goal keeper, Iker Casillas, is finding it difficult to understand how and why his team is suffering in the backline this season in the UEFA Champions League.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815 has again conceded two goals last night against Borussia Dortmund at home. He commented on why Real Madrid have not managed to keep a clean sheet so far in this competition.
The veteran goalkeeper doesn’t believe his side deserve to suffer in this competition. He also revealed how his team are conceding more goals in the Champions League than the domestic league.
“We do not deserve to suffer so much in this competition, in which we are conceding many more goals than we have in the League.”
The shot stopper is fully aware that conceding more goals in the second round if his team qualify would be costly because of the away-goal rules, therefore, he is urging more concentration.
“We must focus on progressing to the next round, where each game played will be important and where we will need to be measured in the goals that we concede.”
The Spanish international stated that they are not happy with the result but looked at the outcome in a positive manner.
“We took something positive from the game and deserve to celebrate just an equalizer.”
The 31-year-old shared his thoughts on how Los Blancos tried everything in their power to win the game and admitted that a more superior side would have made life difficult for them when they encounter the bottom of the table team,
Manchester city in their next match.
Casillas believes Real Madrid’s destiny is in its own hands and a win against the English side will enable them to progress to the second round of the Champions League.
“We were pushing until the final minute; a more adverse outcome would have greatly complicated our next game in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Now, if we win at Manchester City, we can progress.”
Currently Real Madrid are just one point behind leaders Dortmund and are sitting second in the “Group of Champions” with seven points. A win against Man City will almost ensure their qualification to the last-16.
