The Spanish national team’s captain, Iker Casillas, finds it “strange” that Spain has to compete in the qualifying rounds of the FIFA World Cup 2014 when they already won it in 2010.
Until the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the World Cup winners would automatically qualify for the next World Cup in order to defend their title. However, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 won in 2006 at South Korea, it was decided that the champions had to qualify for 2010.
Some do not agree with this notion and believe that the World Cup winners deserve to defend their title in the actual competition, and do not need to go through qualifying rounds, especially the Spanish team members.
“Obviously it is strange and unusual that the world champion does not have an automatic ticket for Brazil,” said the Spanish team captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815. He then continued to say, “It could happen that we do not reach the World Cup and it would be strange
if the champions were not there to defend their title.”
The Spanish team captain believes that if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 do not make it to the World Cup, it would not seem right, and would indeed be strange as the champions will not able to defend their title.
Spain are paired up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 del Bosque, on the fact that the team should not take anyone for granted,
and become too relaxed.
They may have an amazing international winning streak, however, that does not mean that they cannot fall out of place.
“We want to get our first three points, knowing that, in theory, we have games which should not bring us problems, apart from France. But we know that these are opponents who can take points off us.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849 by one goal to none on Friday, and Casillas has said that La Roja have already watched the video of the game and have taken notes. They know who to mark, and who to look out for.
Despite having slight issues with having to play the qualifying matches, we see that the Spanish team is not taking the matches lightly, and are ready for anything, and everything.
