Casillas wants to keep winning titles – La Liga News
Real Madrid captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815, has said he wants to “keep winning titles” for Los Blancos, and continues to harbour the ambitions he had as a youngster.
Casillas has won every trophy that is on offer for professional footballers. From the acclaimed UEFA Champions League to the coveted FIFA World Cup and everything in between, the Spaniard has won it all.
In an interview with official website of Real Madrid, the shot-stopper told that his thirst for more titles is still there and does not have the illusion that he has it all.
The Spanish national team captain shed his views on his desire to win more titles. He said that it is “the ambition, desire and enthusiasm of each player to achieve big things."
For the Real Madrid goalkeeper, this is a two-part step: Pushing yourself to your potential on an individual level and follow it up with a collective effort.
Casillas had special suggestions for the youngsters who wish to follow him and his teammates as professional footballers.
“For the kids, I say so work with enthusiasm and desire to achieve that dream. As a child I had the illusion of becoming Real Madrid goalkeeper, I made it. The most important thing is to have that desire," he said.
"Football takes away time to be with friends, fun when you're 14 or 15 years”. “There are always many more good things than bad. To me the game has given all that I have in life and what it has taken from me I do not remember," he said.
Casillas stated that he feels more responsibility with the fame that has been bestowed on him. He revels in the fact that kinds have posters in their rooms and it means that he is a role model for them.
He stressed the importance of what player’s do on and off the pitch is symbolic to the followers, and they should become more responsible with their actions.
The 30-year-old made his debut in 1998-99 season, and has been an ever present figure at Santiago Bernabéu. Casillas saw the arrival and departures of Galacticos, and finds himself at the centre in V 2.0.
