Hi,

could someone give me a list of the age limits to enter various casinos in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and Iowa. I am nineteen and was wondering which casinos I could gamble at in these states while on vacation. The names of the casinos and the age limit for these states or all states in the USA would be very helpful. Thanks/!!

  1. I'm pretty sure you only have to be 18 in all casinos in the US. (:

  2. You only have to be 18 to gamble in Cailfornia, but only on the indian reservations. Unfortunately you have to be 21 to gamble in Las Vegas.

  3. In Indiana, North Dakota and South Dakota the minimum age in the state is 21 according to two different sources, so I suggest you forget about them.

In Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin one source says the minimum is 21 and the other says "18/21" so I doubt if many will allow anyone younger to gamble.

In Minnesota both sources say the minimum age is 18, but that does not mean an individual casino could not have a higher minimum.

In Michigan the minimum age in the three Detroit casinos, as well as the Four Winds casino in New Buffalo, is 21. I believe all other casinos in Michigan have a minimum age of 18, but I am not sure.

You can find the websites for most casinos starting at

to see if the website lists the minimum age. If it doesn't, there will be a phone number and/or email you can use to ask them.
