Anyone know the severity of the bruise and whether or not this might prevent him from running tomorrow?

  1. They said they are not scratching him... probably a little bruise. Also, could be used as an excuse -even if not said- incase he loses.

  2. TVG reports said the horse looked good coming off the track yesterday, but was lame in his left hind this morning.  They're keeping him very comfortable right now and they are planning on running tomorrow, but will make the final decision about whether to scratch tomorrow.  They're thinking it's a stone bruise.  That can be really common and the horse could go out tomorrow and be fine.  Or it can cause more complex problems and it's entirely possible that his bruised foot could lead to an abscess or something like that.  However, since they're taking good care of it, most likely they will be able to prevent such problems.  With luck, Casino Drive will be fine tomorrow.

  3. they will make that decision on Saturday....

    i hope he runs.....

  4. The bruise was bad enough that he was unable to go for his morning walk and jog.  They are waiting until tomorrow morning ot decide if he will be stratched.  Trainer said if race was run today, he would srcatch.  Either way, I don't see any way a horse with even a slightly sore foot can be effective going  1 1/2 miles.  It certainly makes for interesting racing, if Big Brown is not 100%.  Look for some HUGH payoffs when the long shots run past the tiring favorites past the 1/4 pole to fill out the board!
