  1. Of the first four answers, three are, at a minimum, misleading.

The first answer is misleading because you can increase a pass line bet after the point has been established. You would increase the house percentage if you did, which is why the allow it. You cannot remove or decrease a pass line bet once a point in established.

The second answer, by Dr. Henry, is not misleading.

The third answer is confusing. Placing a "don't come" bet in no way nullifies a pass line bet if the next roll is a seven, of if the dont't come number is repeated before a seven is rolled. Instead both bets lose. It is true that if you make both a come and and equal sized don't come at the same time you have completely nullified the possibility of making any money on those two bets combined, but you have not eliminated the possibility of losing money. I cannot imagine any players want to place bets where they cannot come out ahead but can lose.

The fourth answer says you can make a don't pass bet. However, you cannot make (or increase) a don't pass bet after the point is established. That would give you an advantage over the house and would bankrupt the casino in time if allowed. Just as you can make both a come and a don't come bet after the point is established, you could make a pass and don't pass bet before the point has been established, but once again you would have a bet combination that could never win any money but could lose money.

  2. Any time the button is showing OFF you can change your bet or remove it.

Once the button is turned to ON you must not touch your bet. You must wait until the end of that game when the button will once again be turned to OFF.

  3. Once a point is set you can't remove the pass line bet. You can pull back any odds though

  4. Once the point is established the pass line bets are locked until either the player or house wins.

If you really feel IT coming then... you can place an equal sized bet on the don't come. This basically insures and nullifies you come bet.

  5. No, you must wait until the roll is over.  You can pull you odds bet back.  You can bet the don't pass (different than the don't come).
