The transfer-swap deal involving Pazzini and Cassano had left many wondering over the merits of the move; however, Moratti confirmed that Stramaccioni wanted him.
Ever since rumours started circulating of the possible departure of star players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 had made it clear that would mean his departure from the club as well.
The Azzurri striker had stated this while on international duty in the European Championships this summer. However, Milan selling their two prized assets seemed highly unlikely, and there was consensus that they would not be parting ways with these two players
as they would be looking to remain competitive in the Lega.
However, the Rossoneri did go through with the transfer upon great insistence by Paris Saint-Germain and accepted the combined 60 million Euros bid for the services of Ibra and Silva. Milan have seen a great deal of footballers leaving the club in this transfer
window, some have been released while others have been sold off to other clubs.
What probably forced the former AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 striker to give in a transfer request was the fact that the club have not made the appropriate number of replacements to bring the quality of the squad back to its previous level.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 and Milan concluded the swap involving Cassano and Pazzini, with Inter Milan receiving 7 million Euros for the striker.
When quizzed about the transfer, Moratti went on to explain that it will prove to be a good move for the club. He remarked that Cassano was a great player with loads of creativity, and mentioned:
“We think it’ll go well because he’s an entertaining and interesting player. We believe he can be useful and our Coach thinks so too.”
The patron of the club went on to remark that Cassano would help them improve and the Coach needs him as well, and mentioned:
“Our forwards have scored lots of goals so far and so he’d be helping them to score even more. What system suits him best? I think that’s a question for the Coach, as he’s the one who wanted this transfer. He’ll have a precise idea on how best to use Cassano.”
Cassano has started training with the Inter Milan and will be part of the squad who will be playing in the season opener.
