Im about to get a cassette adapter and use my old discman with it - do you have to put batteries in the discman? Also, do you have to keep replacing the batteries when using with the car stereo or in other words do the batteries constantly die?

  1. The discman can't tell the difference between the cassette adapter and a pair of headphones, so the batteries will die at the same rate.

  2. the batteries will need to be replaced just as if you used it with headphones... it doesn't take any more batteries than headphones.

  3. Just plug the cassette adapter cord into the Aux output on the discman and put the cassette on play. If the discman does not have a "AUX" output you can use the headphone output jack. Yes you will have to keep replacing the batteries unless you get the right DC power adapter to plug into your cigarette lighter. The plug is just like the one for the wall at home but it plugs into the cigarette lighter. If you read the discman it tells you what type of power it requires, it will say the DC volts & amps\milliamps, that is the info you need to get the right dc adapter. Radioshack will have the adapter and if you take the discman there they will make sure you get the right dc adapter.
