Cassetti asks fans to be patient with the new Roma project and heaps praise on Stekelenburg
A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Cassetti-c23682, has urged the fans to remain patient as the team is still undergoing a massive change.
New Roma manager, Luis Enrique, has been handed a task of complete overhaul of the team and implement a similar style to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. The former Barcelona B manager has started making changes from lower levels and is confident of
implementing the Catalan philosophy at Roma.
However, their pre-season form has worried the Roman fans as they have already started asking questions whether the project will be a success or not. Cassetti has asked for support from the fans and he is optimistic that Enrique’s
plan will be a huge hit at the Stadio Olimpico Rome.
The 34-year-old believes that the project is one of its kinds and has never been seen in Italian football before. However, he has stressed out that it will require some time before it shows its effectiveness.
Talking to the reporters Cassetti said, "The new tactical and technical project here has never been seen in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 before. We need time to assimilate to the dictates of [coach] Luis Enrique. In these preliminaries one can see that
the teams most advanced in their preparations cause the most trouble, but we go there to play and to try not to disappoint our fans."
Several of the new signings will make their club debuts but Cassetti is eagerly looking forward to see new goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maarten-Stekelenburg-c22998, in action. The former Italian international is excited to see Stekelenburg at Roma and
believes that he will contribute a great deal at the club.
"Is the defence more safe with him? It is a pleasure to have in this team a player as emblazoned as Maarten. If we have been letting in many goals it is because the team is still working on defense."
The Giallorossi will kick start their 2011/12 campaign with a UEFA Europa League preliminary round game against Slovakian side, Slovan Bratislava, on August 18, 2011. The former Lecce star is hopeful that his team will come out
fighting and will play their natural attacking football.
