  1. clay 1964

  2. Clay-64 is a very different fighter from Ali-74.  Ali took a better punch than Clay.  Clay could never take the punishment that Ali took.  Ali would not be floored by Sonny Banks or even Henry Cooper.  He couldn't dance like like Clay either.

If Banks and Cooper can floor Clay, Forman would KO him, but he has to hit him first.  In any case it would be a very different fight from ALI-74.  Clay knew what Liston was capable of doing.  Forman is the harder puncher between the two of them.  However anything, in regards to POWER, that Forman can do to a man, Liston can too.  That means that Liston could have KO'd Clay too,  IF he could hit him.

Forman is taller with longer arms than Liston.  It would seem that he stands a slightly better chance of hitting a mobil opponent than does Liston.  Not the case.  Forman also loops his punches wider than Liston did.  Therefore, it would take a bit longer for his punches to land.  It also means that Clay would have a slightly easier time avoiding them.

Clay was no weakling.  If he takes too many of Forman's punches he's finished.  He would take some.  He would not take many.  Forman wore himself out "HITTING" ALI-74.  ALI was VERY Smart but Clay was no dummy.  ALI was one of the smartest fighters who ever lived.  He wouldn't have been that way if Clay was a fool.  Look at how he took Liston out of his game BEFORE the fight.  Forman would have gotten some too.

Just like George wore himself out Hitting ALI, he would ware himself out SOONER, MISSING Clay.  It's a known fact that punches that Miss take more than twice the stamina from you that punches that Land.

Don't believe me?  Get a heavybag and punch it as many times as you can until you can't punch anymore.  (dont be scared, it wont hit you back. LOL).  Now when you rest,  Do the same, HITTING the AIR, and see how much sooner you will tire.  I'm not talking about "Shadow Boxing", which, if you know what you're doing, is much more controlled.   Do what George does.  Throw EVERY punch with intention to KILL.

You think Clay can't punch?  No one would make Forman miss as often as Clay would.  A Lightweight can hurt you if you're wide open, if he hits you often enough.  George would be wide open QUITE OFTEN against Clay.

George would miss A LOT.  there is no way he will land on Clay often enough, NOT the way HE fought in his early years.  OLD George would last a bit longer.  He gets hit too much so Clay would "PING" him to death.

Young George would Miss, Miss, Hit, Miss, Hit, Miss, Miss..........

    Get the point?

    Clay by TKO in 7

  3. Ali/Clay would beat up on Foreman just like he did on Liston.  Ali mentally was always on another level leading up to fights especially when he was the underdog.  He would have outsmarted Foreman any time they fought.  It really doesn't matter when.

  4. ali would still have beaten foreman.

  5. I have often wondered the same thing. One thing is for sure it would have been a totally different fight as far a style goes. The older Ali tried in round 1 to punch and move against Forman. Forman was faster than he thought he would be. Ali would not have the stamina to do this beyound 10 rounds against the 24 year old Forman. So he took it easy and layed on the ropes. He was blocking most of Formans punches but did take some also. He was countering with nice rights and jabs and Foremans eye was almost closed by round 8. You know the rest. Clay had great legs and speed and could dance for 30 rounds if needed. He always got stronger in the late rounds. Ok maybe I'm talking about post Liston which is really Ali but it was his peak. I think the man that fought Cleveland Williams and Zora Foley would have been way too fast for Foreman. Foreman would get tired of chasing him and getting hit with jabs. The result is the same as 1974. Foreman is just too tired to fight beyound 8 rounds. Maybe I'm wrong but that is the way I imagine it.

  6. i met clay in the early 60's. he put on a demonstration at the Boy's Club. he could hit that bag better and faster than anyone i've ever seen. i have no doubt he would have creamed foreman but not out "cook" him :-)

  7. big george would beat ali even in 64 if he had wanted a rematch......!!!!!!
