Question:

Cast puts pressure on my broken foot?

The bone that is broken is the bone leading up to the pinky toe. It is about an inch away from my ankle (technical name metatarsal). Now the cast i have goes from my toes (they are showing) to about halfway up between my ankle and knee!

Now my issue is he (not really the Doctor but his assistant like a doc is gonna put a cast on) put my foot at a 90* angle to my leg. Cool if your ankle is broken or something. But its annoying when your foot is broken where mine is because when your foot wants to rest it wants to go PAST 90! Hard to do when you have a cast. Now that bone just rests on the cast when I lay down causing pain. I think the assistant thought i had a broken leg. Right now the right side of my foot (were the break is) is tingling but i can still feel my toe. The fear the doctor had is that were the break is i may cut off/reduce the blood flow to the bone causing it to not heal. He told me to stay off of the foot. Any suggestions or ideas before i call him tomorrow would be appreciated! thank you.

  1. I did not get a cast, I just got a tight elastic bandage. Reason, due to other health problems, I cannot use crutches, so no plaster. However as long as you do not loose the circulation, nothing to worry about. Best of Luck
