  1. A casting director is hired by film and television production companies to audition and filter down actors who best fit the part and perform well.

    A talent agent represents actors and sets up auditons. They also negotiate the contracts for the actors. Talent agents get paid 10 - 15 percent of the actors income for each job AFTER the actor completes the performance and is paid.
