Castle Genie geared to win Maiden Hurdle
Castle Genie is geared up to exhibit a big run at Cork racecourse where she will run today, April 23 in pursuit of the ace title of Follow Cork On Facebook Mares Maiden Hurdle.
The Paul Cashman-trained bay mare will confidently face 23 rivals including Carrigeen Kariega, Supreme Carolina, Ennisnag, Rare Benefit, Killtilane Rose, Springfort Diva, Patsy Cline, Ollies Gal, Bluebell Princess, Ma Nolan, Tukawhile, What An Flyer, Lady
Boulea, Serra Nova, Blazing Sonnet, Glasha Bui, Johncanttalk, Rosie Would, Kicking Kate, Kippbeag, Portacarron Lady, Positive Attitude and Watch Hill Lady.
The high-profile contest over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs is scheduled to commence at 5:20 (GMT). The prize purse contains €6,900.
Castle Genie has been performing well since the very beginning of her career. The maverick mare staged her debut with a third on March 5, 2011. She went ahead to grab a runner-up rank on April 3.
The brilliant young runner finally broke her maiden on February 26, 2012. Running as 4-5 favourite in Whytemount Stud 6yo Mares Maiden, she delivered outstanding performance against 11 rivals.
The talented sprinter proceeded to earn a runner-up rank again in her last outing on April 15. Overall she has participated in 5 races so far, earning £1,467 as prize money.
Castle Genie will be able to unleash a big run in the Hurdle, having more than 85 percent chances to finish first.
Carrigeen Kariega and Supreme Carolina are also likely to perform well in the race.
Carrigeen Kariega started her career in May 2010. The R. H. Lalor-trained bay mare broke her maiden on December 4, 2011. After finishing 2nd in a race on January 15, 2012, she moved ahead to bag a couple of runner-up positions during the first
decade of March.
Supreme Carolina is leading the betting market for the Hurdle. W. P. Mullins’ bay mare elegantly finished first in her maiden race on September 23, 2011. She grabbed second position in her second start on October 26.
