Castletroy-Limerick Area?

Question

Hi there,

I had a job offer from Castletroy, next to Limerick, I'm aware about the bad reputation Limerick has(I don't wanna judge for simplest reason I never been there) but I looked up on google I found out Castletroy is totally different,

Has somebody been there? or is somebody currently living there?

I lived there for 8 months and it's a fantastic area, nothing like the reputation Limerick has. It's on the outskirts of the city and it's a very pleasant area.

Try www.daft.ie for accomadation there, I highly reccomend you consider the job.

Castletroy is around UL and a fairly affluent area. Lots of rental accommodation there also. Nice place to live.

And also, what with all the bad press the city gets, people don't realise that it is a hotbed of the arts.

limerick at the moment is a war zone, the irish people want to put the army on the streets there, it really is that bad, no job is worth it.

Like anyplace else it has its bad spots but I loved it there when I was there in some areas it is nice like near the University and lot of people have moved from the inner city out more.

Its only my opinion and I go shopping in Limerick and go to church so.............

Castletroy is the posh part of Limerick, out in the suburbs, near the University of Limerick.  

There's nothing wrong with living in Limerick, I grew up in the county & lived in the city during my time at University, I never had any problems and I've never known anyone who did.  

There are problems with crime in Limerick - mostly families of gangsters laying into each other and like most people I assume you won't be straying into the council estates so you shouldn't have any problems.

Dude i live there and its such a quiet place, moyross the island westen bala and southill are **** holes, but castletroy is a lovly place, 10 mins frm twn, right next to the university of limerick, if your getin an opertunity to move there then do, l8er kid
