I just learned what the italian castrati were, they were males castrated before puberty to preserve their voices.

Could they have still grown in height?

  1. Yes, they were physically normal in all other ways.

  2. Generally testosterone is involved in stopping the growth of bones.  There is no reason I know of that would suggest them to be smaller except perhaps less muscular.

  3. Girls still grow without testes.  It is my understanding that the growth hormone is not related to the sexual organs.
