Castrol named as ICC’s official performance partner
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has signed an agreement with Castrol, the world's leading lubricant company, that makes Castrol the official performance partner of ICC for the next five years.
ICC has entered into an agreement, which awards Castrol a worldwide rights package from 2010 to 2015 and it will include the two ICC Cricket World Cup events, upcoming in 2011 and 2015.
Castrol boasts a strong portfolio of sports’ sponsorships. Having sponsored recently concluded 2010 FIFA World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. The next in line mega Football events to be sponsored by the company include the UEFA EURO 2012 and the
2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Castrol's commitments to the game of cricket would be a tremendous addition to its current sports’ supportive portfolio.
"This is a fantastic news for our great sport. For us to attract a commercial partner of Castrol's caliber is another indication of the excellent reputation and healthy state of international cricket,” said the ICC Chief Executive, Haroon
Lorgat.
Lorgat further added that the successful agreement with Castrol reaffirms how the world’s leading brands want to be linked with the game in letter and spirit. The ICC Chief Executive said that it is quite encouraging that even though the
game is going through challenging times yet its popularity among sponsors, broadcasters and spectators is as strong as always.
As ICC’s official performance partner, Castrol will bring this system to the venues of premier cricketing events held under the flagship of the ICC like the ICC World Cup and ICC World T20 Championships as an index. By appearing on the
stadium screens at critical points of the match, the Castrol Index will fuel the zeal and zest of spectators by updating them instantaneously on which side is leading the game and also about top performing players in that particular contest.
Castrol already has a strong association with cricket and with its global experience and expertise in leveraging sports sponsorships, Castrol is poised to deliver unique insights and experiences for cricket lovers all over the world.
