What type of supernova is Cat's Eye and the Crab Nebula?? Type IA or Type II?

I know the Pillars of Creation are in the Eagle Nebula, in what constellation is it located, along with Cat's Eye and Crab Nebula's. I know I won't be able to see it with my small telescope but I still would like to know.

Also, do you know of any things other stars and planets that are easily found with the naked eye or a small telescope?

  1. The Cat's Eye nebula is not a supernova remnant its a planetary nebula

The Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant - it must be a Type II because there's a pulsar leftover.

As for naked eye astronomy - you can just about make out the Orion nebula (it's the fuzzy "star" in the middle of the sword)

Otherwise a modest telescope/binoculars might be good enough to see the Ring or Dumbbell nebulae (these were the first Planetary Nebulae to be discovered)
