I noticed my cat limping the other day so I looked at her paw and one of her claws wasn't retracting as it should and its slightly crooked. I really cant afford a vet bill right now, so I would rather not go if I'm just worrying about something small. Is there anything i should watch for, or does it seems bad enough to call the vet now?

the vet is not always right . my kitty ripped his out after getting startled and running to the other room. i took him to the vet, told them he has history of infection in his toes/allergy to litter . they said not to worry, its just the bone....seriously? "just" the bone?? ooowww! well a few days later he is back at the vet...with and infection! thank goodness i had sense enough to question the vet. now he is on antibiotics and a medicated soak . if the toe smells nasty....its most likely an infection! i also cant believe they equate it to us getting a hangnail. uhm...no...my BONE is not exposed when i get a hang nail! TAKE KITTY TO THE VET. better safe than sorry.
