My neigbors cat has had a problem for many, many years now. Every few month or so the cat develops a skin irritation (mostly on face) that

get's so bad she has to take it to the vet for cortisone shots. Then it

clears up and the cat is ok once again. It used to live somewhere else for years but now the cat lives next door with her. She has tried everything to help the cat but usually winds up at the vet. The cats face is soo irritated it starts to loose facial hair and just looks lousy.

It's some kind of dermal thing. Oh, the cat has 5 toes too..if that matters. Please offer any suggestions as I hate to see her feel so bad

over her good friend. I think Skittles is about 6 years old. No animal deserves a life like this, and I know personally that cortisone in a long

run is only going to wind up, ending it's life soon...Help, she loves this

cat with all her heart.....

  1. Perhaps she should see another vet and get a second opinion.  Another option is to contact a veterinary school and see if she can get a referral to a vet who specializes in feline skin conditions.

    Good Luck!
