  1. Two litter boxes is fine as long as you change them/sift them regularly.

  2. Well I'm afraid space is something you have to take into account when you get more than one cat.  If you end up having problems it is not the fault of the cats but the fault of the environment they have been placed in.

How small is the place you are keeping 4 cats in - can't you put a couple of extra ones in a hallway/kitchen/bathroom?  As long as you put them in discrete places and keep them clean it shouldn't be a problem.

Are you having problems with your cats?  If not, you don't need to worry about getting extra litter trays.  It is simply the advice that a behaviourist will give you if your cats have toileting problems.

  3. Ok. I would have 2 kitty pans. 2 heads per pan. Make sure they are cleaned ATLEAST 1 time a day. If they are fuller then 4 messes (pee or poo) then i would try cleaning them 2 times a day... Morning and night. You dont want them being too dirty and then you have 4 babies pottying the house! Just make sure that they are clean and that all the kitys are using them. you can put one pan in the bathroom and one pan in the hall or something... they dont need to be in the same room. We have 2 kittys and one pan... its in the bathroom.

  4. as long as the cats don't mind i don't see a problem with it.i also have four cats.i had to get them each thiere own b/c one refuses to share.

  5. As long as you scoop it a few times a day it's not terrible.

  6. Make sure you are scooping them everyday then and using a brand made for multiple cats.

  7. I have had two cats for as long as I can remember, and I only ALWAYS have ONE cat litter box.  So with four cats I would think that two (large) cat litter boxes should suffice.

You might try asking someone who is from the UK.  They have more cats than dogs there.

    Good luck.

PS~~remember to change the litter boxes daily!

  8. Im sure 2 cat boxes are fine as long as you change the litter a few times and scoop after they've finished its not so bad.
